Primary & Final VIVA practice

Every Wednesday afternoon at the RVI there will be regular viva sessions from 16:00-17:00. The aim of these sessions is to have regular viva practice in the lead up to the exam.

Primary and Final viva candidates throughout the whole region are all very welcome to attend.

Each session will involve trainees taking turn to question each other under exam conditions. Hopefully we can have a good mix of Primary and Final candidates (Final candidates will benefit from the the basic science knowledge of the Primary candidates and vice-versa).

Ideally each session will be chaired by a post Fellowship trainees. I would be really grateful if any post exam trainee could help examine on a few sessions; certificates will be provided.

A small amount of prepared SOE questions are available however trainees can feel free to question each other on any topic on the syllabus.

The sessions will be held in the seminar room in the New Victoria Wing level 5 theatre suite (please e-mail/call/text me if you are lost trying to find this room) after teaching at 16:00-17:00 every week.

I would be grateful if trainees hoping to attend the sessions could get in touch prior to each session; this will help me ensure there are enough tables/rooms/packs of biscuits set up.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the course.

Best wishes,

Mark Dalton
